A house and the family living in it

Last time, we covered descriptions of your day. Now we are going to learn how to talk to friends about your house and your family. Let’s get started. Here Mohit is your friend.


पिछली बार, हमने आपके दिन के विवरण को कवर किया था। अब हम सीखने जा रहे हैं कि दोस्तों से अपने घर और अपने परिवार के बारे में कैसे बात करें। आएँ शुरू करें। यहां मोहित आपका दोस्त है।

 

Example 1:

 

You: Hello Mohit. How are you doing?

Mohit (your friend): I am doing well. Can you tell me about your house?

You: I live in Malad, Mumbai. I have a small house in which I live with my family. I have a family of four. My family has me, my brother and my parents. My parents are 40 years old and my brother is 10 years old. I love to play with my brother.

 

Small- छोटे

Live- रहना

Brother- भाई

Parents- माता-पिता

Love to- करने के लिए प्यार

 

Example 2:

 

You: Hello Mohit. How are you doing?

Mohit (your friend): I am doing well. Can you tell me about your house?

You: I live in Malad, Mumbai. I have a large house in which I live with my entire family. I have a family of ten. My family has me, my brothers, my parents, my aunts and uncles and my grandparents. My grandparents narrate stories to all the kids every night. I and my brothers go to school together and are learning English.

 

Large- बड़ा

Entire- पूरे

Aunts- चाची

Uncles- चाचा

Grandparents- दादा दादी

Narrate- कहानी सुनाना

Every- प्रत्येक 

Together- साथ-साथ

 

Example 3:

 

You: Hello Mohit. How are you doing?

Mohit (your friend): I am doing well. Can you tell me about your house?

You: I live in Malad, Mumbai. I have a huge house in which I live with my joint family. I have a family of ten. My family has me, my brothers, my sisters, my uncles and aunts and my grandparents. My sisters help my mother and my aunts in kitchen, every day. My uncles get groceries. My father teaches all the kids.





Huge- विशाल

Joint family- जुड़ें, संयुक्त परिवार

Help- मदद

Every day- हर दिन

Groceries- किराना

Teaches- सिखाता

 

Example 4:

 

You: Hello Mohit. How are you doing?

Mohit (your friend): I am doing well. Can you tell me about your house?

You: I live in Malad, Mumbai. I have a cozy apartment. I live in a nuclear family. But we have a strong bond with my grandparents. They visit us very frequently. Every time my grandparents visit us, they bring chocolates for me and my sister.


Cozy- आरामदायक

Apartment- मकान

Nuclear family- सिर्फ माता पिता और बच्चों का परिवार

Strong- मजबूत

Bond- बंधन

Visit- भेंट 

Frequently- बार बार

Every time- हर बार

Bring- लाना

 

 

Example 5:

 

You: Hello Mohit. How are you doing?

Mohit (your friend): I am doing well. Can you tell me about your house?

You: I live in Malad, Mumbai. I live with my family in a huge apartment. Even though, I don’t live with my grandparents, I am close to them. My grandfather tells me stories of his childhood days. My grandmother cooks delicious meals. My parents are very busy, but they spare some time to help with my homework.


Even though- फिर भी

Close- करीब

Tells- बताता

Childhood- बचपन

Delicious- स्वादिष्ट

Meals- भोजन

Busy- व्यस्त

But- लेकिन

Spare- खाली
